Project Description

The Wayne County Community College District new Northwest Campus Master Plan provided a highly visible exterior presence for WCCCD and included circulation pathways that delineated access to ample parking and articulated building entries. The front entrance was designed to include a new 220,000 SF “One Stop Shop” Welcome Center, housing admissions, registration, career counseling, and financial aid.
The design also included space for study alcoves, food service, Internet café, bookstore, computer commons, gymnasium and a learning resource center.

New classrooms wrapped around a student-focused core designed to provide flexibility, expandability and wireless/multi-media technology. The circulation plan provided a unifying fabric for students and faculty, facilitating circulation between buildings, classrooms, and student activity centers.
