Project Description

SDG was architect for the adaptive reuse of the four-story, 19th century St. Mary’s Building to be utilized as corporate administrative and operational offices for the Casino. The project was divided into three phases: 1) overall master plan, 2) shell and core improvements, and 3) office fit-out, with new HVAC, plumbing, electrical and information technology improvements. SDG’s designs accommodated the required corporate activities and connected the building to adjacent complexes via an enclosed bridge to the Casino Hotel.

Additionally, Greektown Casino’s expansion from a temporary to permanent facility included constructing a 400-room hotel and 3,400-space parking structure. The original Data Center that operated the temporary facility required significant expansion. Construction of the new Data Center required assurance that the 24-hour facility was never shut down and that all systems operated without interruption. SDG designed a multi-phase project accomplishing the necessary expansion without a single disruption.
